Cary Johnston
Cary is an award-winning former BBC news correspondent www.bbc.co.uk and currently a full-time on-screen news presenter for the award-winning international 24-hour news broadcaster Russia Today Television www.rt.com based in Moscow.

Throughout his career, Cary has worked across all fields of journalism, including feature writing and live broadcasting. He was the first winner of the prestigious Royal Television Society Young Journalist of the Year award in the UK. More recently he anchored the live unfolding events of the Moscow Metro bombings of 2010, on the Russia Today news channel.

Previously, Cary co-anchored the ITV nightly regional news programme “Meridian Tonight” in the UK, whilst also producing and presenting much of the channel’s sports output. He speaks Spanish, and holds a full clean European driving licence.

Cary began his career as a reporter for The Voice national newspaper in Britain, before working in radio, and subsequently television. Of his current role at Russia Today Television, he says: “I am genuinely delighted to be part of such a dynamic and important broadcaster. Russia is an exciting place to be right now, and as a foreigner living here, it throws up all sorts of fascinating surprises.”
